Them were a Northern Irish Band from Belfast, formed in 1964, by Van Morrion (Lead Vocals, Saxophone), Alan Henderson (Bass), Billy Harrison (Guitar), Eric Wrixon (Keyboards) and Ronnie Milling (Drums).  They started as the Garage Rock Band, and their well-known single hit "Gloria", the second hit "Baby, Please Don't Go" in 1965 (UK No. 10) and "Here Comes The Night" (UK No. 2 and Ireland No. 2).  The group had considerable influence on other bands, such as The Doors.
