The James Taylor Quartet are an British four-piece Acid Jazz, Jazz Funk Band from Rochester, Kent, formed in 1985 by James Taylor (Hammond Organ Ex The Prisoners), David Taylor (Guitar), Alan Crockford (Bass Ex The Prisoners), and Simon Howard (Drums Ex Daggermen). The band's debut seven track mini album, Mission Impossible (1987), followed and predominantly comprised covers of 1960s film themes such as "Alfie", "Mrs. Robinson" and "Goldfinger" in a rough, Up-Tempo, also Punk-like Style.
