The Souther-Hillman-Furay Band was an American Country Rock Supergroup from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1973 at the suggestion of David Geffen, then head of Asylum Records, consisted of Richie Furay (Vocals, Guitar Ex Buffalo Springfield, Poco), Chris Hillman (Vocals, Bass, Mandolin Ex The Byrds, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Manassas, and later Desert Rose Band), and JD Souther (Vocals, Guitar, Drums Ex Longbranch Pennywhistle, and songwriter for Linda Ronstadt and The Eagles), along with 3 members of Manassas; Paul Harris (Keyboards, Flute), Al Perkins (Guitar, Pedal Steel Guitar, Dobro), and Joe Lala (Percussion Ex Barnstorm, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Manassas).
