Zalman Yanovsky or Zal Yanovsky was a Canadian Folk Rock Musician and Songwriter, born in Toronto, Ontario, best known as the lead guitar and for The Lovin' Spoonful, a Folk Rock Band which he founded with John Sebastian in 1964.  He was also member of Folk Music Trio called Mugwumps with Cass Elliot and Denny Doherty, both later group The Mamas & Papas.
