Maynard Ferguson was a Canadian Jazz Trumpeter and Bandleader from Verdun, Quebec, Canada.  He played with Stan Kenton's Orchestra, Boyd Raeburn, Jimmy Dorsey and Charlie Barnet.  He became the leader of the Birdland Dream Band, a 14-piece big band, included players such as Slide Hampton, Don Ellis, Don Sebesky, Willie Maiden, John Bunch, Joe Zawinul, Joe Farrell, Jake Byard, Lanny Morgan, Rufus Jones, Nino Tempo, Nat Pavone, Bill Berry, Bill Chase, and Don Menza.  He was inducted into the Down Beat Jazz Hall Of Fame.
