Confederate Railroad is an American Country Rock and Southern Rock Band from Atlanta, Georgia, formed in 1987 by Danny Shirley (Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar), Michael Lamb (Lead Guitar), Chris McDaniel (Keyboards), Warren "Gates" Nichols (Steel Guitar), Wayne Secrest (Bass), and Mark Dufresne (Drums).  After serving as a backing band for Outlaw Country acts David Allan Coe and Johnny Paycheck, then band decided to recording their own album.
