Hootie & The Blowfish is an American Rock Band from Columbia, South Carolina, formed in 1986 at the University Of South Carolina by Darius Rucker (Vocals, Guitar), Mark Bryan (Guitar), Dean Felber (Bass), and Brantley Smith (Drums), shortly replaced by Jim Sonefeld (Drums).  Their 1994 debut album, Cracked Rear View, and reached No. 1 on US Billboard 200 Album Charts, Canada Album Charts, and No. 1 New Zealand Album Charts.  This album was the 16th-Best-Selling Album of All Time in the U.S., and certified Platinum 16 times.  The group was especially popular in Canada.  They have sold over 21 million albums in the U.S.
