Dave Van Ronk is an American Folk Singer, and Songwriter, from Brooklyn, New York, who settled in Greenwich Village, New York and his nicknamed the "Mayor Of MacDougal Street".  His style ranged from Old English Ballads to Blues, Folk, Gospel, Ragtime.  He befriended include Bob Dylan, Tom Paxton, Phil Ochs, Ramblin' Jack Elliott and Joni Mitchell.  He received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Society Of Composers, Authors And Publishers (ASCAP) in December 1997.  He died with Colon Cancer in New York Hospital.
