Mariah Carey is an American Singer and Songwriter.  She is the best-selling female performer of all time.  She has easily moved from glossy Ballads to Hip Hop-inspired Dance Pop throughout her career, she earned early comparisons to Whitney Houston and Celine Dion.  Her debut album, Mariah Carey (1990) topped the Billboard Hot 100, all four singles off her multi-platinum, beginning with "Vision Of Love", which also led to Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female.  Her most successful singles including "Hero", "Without You", "All I Want For Christmas Is You", and "One Sweet Day", the latter became the longest-running U.S. No. 1 Single in History, with a total of 16 weeks.  Billboard named her the most successful artist of the 1990's in the United States while the World Music Awards honored her as the World's Best-Selling Recording Artist of the 1990s.
