The Smashing Pumpkins are an American Alternative Rock Band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 1988 by frontman Billy Corgan (Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar), James Iha (Rhythm Guitar), D'arcy Wretzky (Bass) and Jimmy Chamberlin (Drums). The band started to play in the Punk Rock roots and developed by Guitar-heavy sound, containing elements of Dream Pop, Psychedelic Rock, Progressive Rock, Heavy Metal, Gothic Rock and Electronica. Their debut album Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album Chart, with 20 million album sold in the U.S.A. alone.
